You can still place orders as normal but please be advised that nothing will be shipped until August 20th. It's time once again for awesome world-acclaimed music, whales tails and mosquitoes, yes, the Winnipeg Folk Festival is on now till Sunday. Small Potatoes has set up shop for the next three days at the Handmade Village. There are lots of dresses, hats, limited edition guitar t-shirts (which sold out very early last time) bibs, nursing covers, Binky and Drinky Leashes, barrettes, blankies, and more fun stuff. Come check out all the new summery fabrics and say hi (and bring me one of those freshly squeezed lemonades!)

By looking at the gap in entries between this one and the previous one you might be thinking that Small Potatoes has taken a bit of a hiatus. However, that couldn't be further from the truth. The Small Potatoes Web department* has been working hard to bring you a fresh and shiny new online experience.

With the help of 11 amazingly talented baby models (and their mamas) and photographer, Ian McCausland, there’s a whole bunch of super cute new photography. I’ve also spent countless hours sourcing some absolutely amazing new fabric that I’m sure you will love.

As well, there’s a new shopping cart system to make your purchasing a little easier and it also allows me to finally sell online gift certificates. Your comments, as always, are greatly appreciated. In fact, you can now review individual products and share them with your friends. I hope you enjoy the new site. Stay tuned for more new features!

Wow, did you see that year wizz by at break-neck speed? I can't believe it's already time to start screwing up the date when writing cheques again. Well, I wish you all a wonderful, safe New Year, hope you are able to spend it with friends and family. I'm looking forward to starting a fresh new year with some new products and some amazing new fabrics that I am so excited to share with you. Happy New Year!

The Signatures Show Craft Sale was fantastic! Thanks to all who came out! The non-stop Christmas music and the smell of home made fudge sure put me in the mood for the holidays. What else is new? I have added 2 fabulous new fabrics called Traffic Jam and Odyssea Calypso to my collection. Poke around the Shop section of my site to see their splendour. Also, due to popular demand, Small Potatoes Slings are now available in the same great soft cottons that my other products come in. My list of retailers is growing. I'm happy to announce that you can now shop for Small Potatoes gear in Steinbach, Manitoba at Young and Trendy located in Clearspring Centre. The much-loved store also includes a photo studio and a range of clothing for children of all ages.

And adding to my list of international retailers, an online shop in Singapore called Little Olive Tree will soon be opening their doors.

I'm hanging the "gone folking" sign on the Small Potatoes door for a few days while I am out at Birds Hill Park for the 35th annual Winnipeg Folk Festival. As anyone who's been to the festival knows, it's a unique festival with amazing music and good times.

I will be setting up shop in the festival's Handmade Village as part of a collection of about 50 artisans from Manitoba and across Canada, who sell their creations including: clothing, ceramics, jewellery and woodworking.

Come out on to hear the fabulous music, taste the food (mmm... whales tails!) and come say "hi" to me in booth #38.

Small Potatoes is going to be at Cordially Yours Craft Sale & Rock Show June 25, 5pm at the Cavern Club 112 Osborne Street (below The Toad).
